Specialist in the history and theory of art from the University of the Andes, her thesis concentrated on Clemencia Lucena and is the first known piece of research on this artist.
She has worked at the Museum of Bogotá, where she was responsible for, among others things, the collection, the acquisition of the photographic archive of Manuel H. Rodríguez and the opening of the exhibition halls of the Archive of Bogotá.
At the Luis Ángel Arango Library, María Victoria worked in the temporary exhibitions section in the registration area. She also worked as a fellow at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and at the Buonarroti House Museum in Florence in the education section, developing educational content about the collection.
She studied business administration at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and museum management, galleries and museology at the International University of Art in Florence.
Law graduate of the University of the Andes, she holds a Masters’ in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Gloria Cristina worked as assistant curator and researcher inplastic arts at the Banco de la República, where she was in charge of coordinating temporary exhibitions and the development of special projects using the collection.
She was in charge of the creation and initial management of the Foundation of Friends of the Art Collections of the Banco de la República, the first fundraising exercise for the museum. Gloria Cristina devised programs to generate new audiences and began the first didactic rooms of the museum.
She was professor of art history and project management at the University of the Andes and is interested in research on Colombian art.
